Employment Services Program Coordinator Job Description

Regular Part Time 24 hours/ week  

External Posting Date: May 18- 28, 2017 

(H.S.A. UNION POSITION)

This position averages 24 hours per week, 9 am – 5 pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and 9 am – 12 noon Monday or Friday at the Administration offices of SOWINS. Wage rate per Grid Level 14 Collective Agreement ($22.93 – $26.69). Extended benefits available after probation period.

Qualifications:
• Degree in a related Human / Social Service field
• Three years recent related experience including workshop facilitation skills, administrative skills including supervision skills, and experience working with women who have experienced violence and/or abuse.

CASUAL / RELIEF WORKERS – TRANSITION HOUSE

Closing Date: None – this is a continuous posting

These are casual positions with potential to lead to part-time and/or full-time positions as Transition House Workers and Women’s Support Workers at Transition House.

The Transition House is a residential setting for women and their children who have experienced or are at risk of abuse or violence.

Qualifications:

•Diploma in a related human / social service field

•One year recent experience in the area of violence against women

Other requirements:

•Ability to provide supportive counseling

•Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License with good driving record.

•Acceptable criminal record check

•Valid First Aid certificate

•Must be physically able to do general household chores; and be able to deal with ongoing crisis situations.

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

•Second Language and / or good working knowledge of cultural diversity an asset

Wage Rate: $17.47 Transition House Worker

                  $18.66 Women’s Support Worker
