The Transition House provides safe, confidential shelter for children, youth and women who have experienced or are at risk of abuse. There is also a youth bed for at-risk female youth where home or family is not an available option.
The Transition House along with its crisis line is open 24 hours per day 7 days per week and accepts new residents at any time. We provide services based on a harm reduction model and are located at a confidential location in Penticton with enhanced security features.
We provide a range of services including:
- Onsite crisis counselling
- Parental, child and family support
- Referral and advocacy to other community services.
- Focus on safety, confidentiality and individual support.
Many clients are unsure what to expect when they arrive at the Transition House, thinking it is set up in a hostel style of format. It is not. As a client of the Transition House, you are provided with an individual room with a bed, nightstand, closet and full private bathroom. We recognize that privacy is an important part of the journey beyond trauma. There is a grand room, community space and large, well-equipped kitchen.

Safe Homes are private residences in the community that provide shelter for up to ten days for women who are experiencing or are at risk of abuse. Some Safe Homes do allow children and pets.
Safe Homes are operated by trained volunteers who open their personal homes to provide safety to women in crisis.
