Bed Stays for Children in 2016
Safe Homes are private residences in the community that provide shelter for up to ten days for women who are experiencing or are at risk of abuse. Some Safe Homes do allow children and pets. Safe Homes are operated by trained volunteers who open their personal homes to provide safety to women in crisis. The Safe Home addresses are not disclosed by SOWINS, the client or the safe home operator. These wonderful compassionate volunteers are not counselors but act as good neighbours when women are leaving abusive relationships. During their stay in safe homes our clients receive the services of our outreach staff to help them identify the next steps in their journey. There is no age restriction to stay in a Safe Home. If you want to know more about staying at a safe home call 250-493-4366 or email firstname.lastname@example.org If you would like to open your home to a woman in need please follow this link for safe home operators.
